Happy and Strong

Hey hey all!  I hope you all have been well and that you’ve had an absolutely fantastic week.  You may notice that my blog has a new outfit.  It’s not complete yet but I think it’s headed in the right direction.  It’s certainly a little more ME and it looks a tad happier to me.  Anyway, I was told yesterday by my dear friend Deana that I need to post because it’s been exactly “100 Million years” since I’ve posted. Who me?  . . . oops.  Well I’m not sure it’s been thaaaat long but I know that for the past month I’ve done about 10 posts, which is quite frankly, kinda pathetic for me.  To be honest though, my whole life has been pretty pathetic for the past month. 

Case in point:  The following picture was taken yesterday because it was the day of the Women’s Half Marathon that I was supposed to run in. 


Yes, I am in fact wearing all black AND my medal from last year while holding the super awesome swag bag I got . . . and yes that IS the absolute worst pouty face ever. The Puerto Rican in me (it’s there, I promise) has a slight flair for the dramatic.  Whatev.

Anywho, the past month I’ve been acting pathetic and wallowing in the stress of life in general. I’ve also been pretty irritated that the marathon is going to have to be pushed back too. The not being able to run part though has really really got me down since that is my source of stress relief.

While I do think a little bit of wallowing is good since it usually means self-reflection and learning, I also think this has gotten beyond RIDICULOUS and I want to do something about it. The very same day I decided to change my attitude, I read this quote over at the Fitnessissta’s. blog:

I’m willing to put in the work now so I hope you guys stick around to see what that takes In love

I’m thinking it’ll involve dog parks, getting outdoors, lots of time in the kitchen, some wine and a lot more social interaction (whether alcoholic or not). 

Today’s Workout:

Run/Walk 1.5 miles in 15 mins

The last .3 miles were walked continuously since the leg got sore towards the end but a slather of mineral ice, a lot of stretching, and some Ibuprofin had me good as new afterwards Smile
