Hey all! How are you doing today? How was your week? With the exception of the bum knee, mine was uneventful to say the least. Life has been a lot of getting organized, cleaning house, doing laundry . . . and trying to get my balance back! Such as work outs, blogging, AND my appetite just to name a few. I think my body is still on Korea time because I start feeling super-productive around 3-4 PMish and that puts Korea right around 7-8 AM. It’s the same with hunger right now. Anywho, I’m not here to complain that would be noooo bueno and it wouldn’t be productive either. I think it’s time to take some of the focus of my blog back to its roots.
I’m not sure how long any of you have been with me but originally this blog was called “Running For Joy.” I started it as a way to follow my training for my first marathon (originally planned for April, 2011) and to follow my fundraising efforts for the Joyful Heart Foundation. JHF is important to me for many reasons:
Law and Order: SVU is one of my all time favorite shows.
I worship Mariska Hargitay
I have far too much experience with persons who have suffered domestic/child/sexual abuse
I already wrote a post on Why Joyful Heart so I won’t get into it again. Bottom line: I
want need to help this organization any way that I can and now, I have two avenues. My own two feet and my blog. If you would like to help me help them, then here is a very small way. It only takes a minute of your time. If you click on the picture below, it will take you to the Chase Community Giving Awards. If you vote for JHF, they will be put in the running for a $1 Million Dollar grant from Chase Community Bank to help with their mission. <—Read about how they will use the grant money there.
Thank you! I truly appreciate every vote you all can give them.
Now yesterday was the start of a new month (I love the feel of fresh starts)
So here’s what else I’ve got on the agenda for the month:
- Guest Posts on some of my favorite blogs
- New Fitness Challenge! The 60 Day Burpee Challenge
- Re-booting marathon training. (I’ve lost
a lotsome of my consistency)
- Get back to eating my weird hippie foods that are OH SO GOOD and good for you (Kale chips, tofu and black bean burgers, OH MY!)
- I’m also getting a blog raffle together to raise money for JHF. Here’s a sneak peek at one of the prizes:
I’m pretty excited to get all this started
Have a great day guys!
Do you have any goals for the new month?
